Join us as we collect back to school supplies for Opportunity House. We are collecting backpacks, pens, pencils, notebooks, and all the things children and youth need! Drop off at the church by August 20.

June was the Rub-A-Dub-Dub event for Mary’s Shelter as we collect bath products and toddler size diapers and pull-ups. The list of items we are collecting includes: Baby wash, shampoo & lotion; baby bottles and bottle cleaning brushes, pacifiers, medicine dispensers, bibs, nail clippers or scissors, hair brush/comb sets, baby thermometers, wipes, diaper rash cream, diapers sizes 4-6

February was St. Alban’s Diaper Drive to help Mary’s Shelter. We collected diapers of all sizes and wipes to help our community. Thank you to all who helped!

Outreach Opportunities at St Alban’s

 

St. Alban’s Christian Learning Center: St. Alban’s Christian Learning Center was chartered by the Vestry of St. Alban’s Church to be part of the mission and evangelism of the church. Our Learning Center is staffed with quality instructors where children are prepared for Kindergarten and instructed in the areas of literacy, math, science, social studies and Christian Education.  The curriculum is aligned with the PA Early Learning Standards. OPPORTUNITY HOUSE: Join St. Alban’s as we reach out to feed the hungry in our community.  St. Alban’s provides one meal monthly, feeding between 75-100 people.  A sign-up sheet is in the Narthex each month.  If you do not cook, you can provide pre-made items such as rolls or desserts, or you can serve as a driver to transport food, or even make a donation to purchase provisions. 2024 events were held in spring and fall dates were : April 10, May 22, June 5, July 10, August 14, Sept 4, October 9, November 6, December 11

Baseballtown Dream League: We are assisting the Baseballtown Dream League with baseball games for those with developmental disabilities and are looking for 5-8 volunteers for each game. Volunteers have a variety of jobs including announcing, operating the scoreboard, organizing/coordinating players, assisting players on the field and more. The games start at 9:00am and run until 11:15am. The dates for 2024 fall games will be posted. Contact the office to volunteer.

 Little Library – donate used books for adults and children for our community to borrow and return.

Knitting/Crochet Group – meets each Wednesday @9:30 AM, hats, scarves, prayer shawls, blankets donated to local organizations.

St. Alban’s Reaches Out: St. Alban's supports programs in our community through your generous donations. Currently, we are collecting the following:

  • Wilson Area Food Pantry for students in Wilson Area Schools!!  Please help, the support from Second Harvest is down and they are in need of our donations of non-perishable food items especially peanut butter; canned fruits, veggies, pasta, tomato sauces; canned meats & tuna.

  • New & slightly used books for the Cops & Kids Program & for the Little Library

  • Travel size toiletries & magazines for the Opportunity House
